Women vs. Society

Why is it that a woman cannot feel comfortable in her own skin? Why is it that society makes us feel like our natural beauty cannot be enough?
It saddens me to know that so many young girls feel like they have to put on makeup to be "pretty." I once heard a guy make a comment about a girl that said, "Yeah, she was gorgeous until she went all natural and stopped using makeup." I was taken aback by this comment. I guess that itself, offers a clear answer to my two questions above.
Too short, too tall.
Too fat, too skinny.
Too girly, too tomboy.
Too flat, too curvy.
You tell me, how is a girl
Supposed to feel?
Starting from an unhealthily young age, girls take in a role of how society tells them to be, not necessarily who they want to be. It is time to raise young girls to feel perfectly beautiful and loved in their own skin. That begins with you... it begins with loving yourself despite what society has told you throughout the years.
Whether your skin is perfectly clear or not, you are made worthy. Whether you use makeup or not, you are still beautiful. Embrace your freckles, cause others wish they had them. Embrace your skin tone, cause it makes you unique and that itself is beautiful too. Don't be ashamed of your scars, cause it's merely a representation of the battles you've won.
Most importantly, remember, that what makes you beautiful is not always seen on the outside... but through the reflection of what you carry inside and there is no need to worry, because when your beauty is within you, you will always glow differently on the outside.
