A Matter of Balance

Balance is a huge thing to maintain in life. Without this sort of equilibrium, we tend to loose sight of important things and our attention is often geared towards things that we allow to consume our time.

What do you value the most? What do you focus most of your time and energy on? How balanced would you considered these things to be?

When we are consumed by one singular thing, it can become blinding. Time is one thing we cannot rewind or take back, do not take time for granted focusing on something that is not meant to consume the majority of your life.

We often times complain about not having enough time to do things. I am definitely guilty of this, getting caught up in other things that I have to get done. What if we were to prioritize other things though? What if we cut back an hour on whatever it is that consumes us most and used that time to be present in a place we've have been lacking?

Would your kids thank you? Would your body thank you? Would you own mental health thank you? What is it that is overly consuming in your life that you have the power to change?

This can look different for every person. It could be balancing time to be home with family. It could be making the time to workout for your own self. It could be making time for your social life. Perhaps making time to enrich your spiritual life. It could be something as simple as making time to take a break, literally! Just breathe.

The list can go on. Find a balance, find an equilibrium. So easily said, but so much harder to execute. I challenge you to reflect and take a look at what consumes your time the most and what you wish you were spending more time doing. Schedule these things, set reminders, make them a priority. Remember, time is not something we can never rewind or take back. Do not continue to leave things for another hour, day, or year. Begin to execute, begin to make changes in the way you balance your life.
